Laser / IPL Hair Removal

We are equipped to carry out long-lasting hair removal in the safe and secure confines of our medical clinic through the use of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). As is laser hair removal, IPL hair removal is a light-based procedure to produce long-lasting hair free skin (despite what many providers may claim, laser and IPL hair removal is not actually ‘permanent’, although if you follow the recommended top-up sessions, your skin will be permanently hair free).

Both laser and IPL hair removal work by targeting the pigment melanin within the hair follicle (the ‘root’ of the hair). The dark pigment in the hair follicle selectively picks up the light energy and heats up the follicle to stun its growth.
While the treatment naturally works best the bigger the contrast between hair colour and skin colour (i.e. dark hair on light skin), good results can be obtained across a wide range of skin tones. However, we do not advise this treatment in darker skin types such as Mediterranean skin types and black skin.
